* Apply oil (not grease) to the outside of the barrel nut prior to installation for best results / ease of installation.

* Apply febi grease or another high temperature grease to the threads of the barrel nut and upper receiver prior to installation to prevent galling during installation, this will also help prevent seizing in the case that the upper assembly is ever disassembled.
